The first time I start up minecraft for the day, its fine and my fps stays at 120. The second and all other times my fps matches my chunk updates, which turn out to be 15-20 ish. Its completely unplayable at this state. I have a powerful gaming rig, with 8 processers and 16 gigs of ram. Im using windows 7 and have tried reinstalling both 64 bit updated java and minecraft. My fps also sometimes just stays close to what my chunk updates are, like 15 fps and 17 chunk updates. It does this both in multiplayer and singleplayer, and it has more then enough ram to run with. Please help, I cant find a solution online. I have no mods or texturepacks installed.

i have an fps issue too. the fps drop is due to 1.6. i hope mojang fixes this, because a lot of users are frustrated. i have a laptop which isnt nearly as powerful as your machine (intel i5 dual processor, 6 gb ram). 1.5 ran at 50-60 fps lol. mojang better fix this very soon
