Can't use the new launcher!

I downloaded the new launcher for Windows from the minecraft website. When i try to run it, a window pops up saying "Error: could not create the java virtual machine. Error:A fatal exception has occurred. Program will exit"
My java is updated to the newest version. What do i do???

I got a new computer and the new launcher works now. Yay!
