Currently, on all versions of Minecraft (1.5.1 - 1.6.2) with the new launcher, I've been having one HUGE problem. The buckets in game aren't working. In creative mode, I can place water/lava, but I can't pick anything up with an empty bucket! It picks the water up for a second, then it immediately disappears! I've also tested this in a modded .jar with optifine, but I get the same problem. How am I supposed to play if I can't pick up water or lava?!

I'm running latest version Minecraft on OS X Mountain Lion 1.8.3.

I've also made opengl=true in the Package Contents>Info.plist (Mac users will know what this means)

Is anyone else having this problem that knows how to fix it?!

just do /give (your username) 9 64 for water
do /give (your username) 10 64 for lava

We won't upvote for posting a bug report.

Invalid report, because it is intended to be like that. You can't pickup water using a bucket, it will only dissappear without giving you the water.

I tested it on both survival\creative in 1.6.2, and you can picukup water in survival.

Sorry about the upvote, I usually don't do that. I've also reported it as an issue to Mojang. I realize that it is inteded to do that in creative, but it isn't working for me in singleplayer survival or Multiplayer Survival. Any thoughts?


Update: If I change gamemode from creative to survival, it works. I have to test this in normal survival, I need to get the resources first , but it still isn't woking on Multiplayer. Here's a quick vid:

Update: Okay, so you were right, it does work in Survival. This really weird though, it wasn't working yesterday, before I reinstalled Minecraft and Optifine. But it still doesn't explain the reasoning behind it not working in MP. Do you think it is a bug on the server side, rather than client side?

Would a mod please close this thread? The buckets don't work as the server disabled them for misbehavior.
