Hello, ever since i updated to the new launcher, im getting extreme and i mean EXTREME lag. I have a really nice computer, and before the launcher, i could run the game at max settings and record while maintaining a steady 60 fps. Ever since i updated, i get like 5 fps on short view distance, no joke. here are my specs.
Model: Asus q500a
Processor: intel i5 core processor
Ram: 8 GB
Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 4000
Hard drive: 750 GB
The way I found to fix the lag is to: go to your processes (after you have minecraft up and running) end the process "javaw.exe" there will be 2 end the process that uses less memory.Then right click on the other javaw.exe and set the priority to "normal" or better.

If you're getting dramatic performance drops, allocating more RAM may fix this issue. Hit "Edit Profile" in the launcher, and in the JVM Arguments option, type in the following: -Xms2G -Xmx2G. Also, if you are using a computer with both Intel and Nvidia/AMD GPUs, you need to update your drivers for both GPU, then make sure the Nvidia/AMD GPU is always used in either the Control Panel, or the BIOS.
Try that and see if it helps.and do you have your computer specs?

first of all, when i allocate more ram, when i open minecraft, it says "there is an error in the java" and it wont open. both my drivers are updated. my computer specs?

intel i5 3210m core (2.50 ghz)
6 gb RAM
2 gb dedicated video ram
dedicated graphics card: AMD radeon 7670 HD graphics
pretty decent laptop. i got it for my birthday this year, its about 5 months old. and i dont know how to get to the "BIOS" could you tell me? (im using windows 8)

Better specs than my PC,I don't know Win8 at all so I would suggest a Google search is in your future.What is your average framerate?
