Okay, so. When I say Minecraft lags for me, everyone says it's my computer.
Here are some steps I tried to make minecraft faster.
Keep EVERYTHING in the backround closed.
Tried a game-booster which hardly helped.
Added more memory to minecraft, which did LITTLE TO NOTHING.
Went to very small servers, still this didn't work because the lag was always terrible.
Now the other day I cleaned out my computer, and by cleaned out I mean CLEANED. OUT. I restored it so a ton of memory is available now, yet I still lag terribly no matter what.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I wanna enjoy minecraft again :c
whats your computer spec's? please keep in mind when running minecraft it takes a lot to push a small game its very demanding. Adding more memory to minecraft will not increase your FPS if anything it will decrease it from more read writes to your hard drive.

Okay, here's the specs.
Manufacture: TOSHIBA
Model: Satellite C655
Rating: 3.2 Windows Experience Index
Processor: Intel(R) Celeron(R)
Installed Memory: 3.00 GB (2.87 Usable)
Those are pretty limited computer spec, How ever by the looks of it your on a laptop. (32bit OS?) nothing you can really do here upgrading isn't an option if you have a laptop best thing to do is try optifine. If you are lagging just in SMP i may suggest your connection is weak to the server or your ISP is dropping packets.

Actually I have a 64-bit OS. Would adding more ram be an option?
