I currently have 2 computers running side by side (KVM to switch between).
Computer #1: Windows 7 x64 - Runs Minecraft fine. Any version. Verified my account is connecting properly and that my router isn't blocking it (never has).
Computer #2: Windows XP Home SP3 - Minecraft will not work for either 1.5.2 or 1.6.
On 1.5.2:
Launcher starts fine. I try to log in and get: "Can't connect to minecraft.net"
On 1.6:
Launcher starts, downloads content fine. I try to log in and get the following:

Those are the symptoms. Here is what I've tried already:
- Checked JAVA version.
- Uninstalled JAVA and reinstalled
- Tried a different version of JAVA
- Disabled anti-virus (AVG Free)
- Disabled Firewall
- Done al of the above in many different orders while also deleting the .minecraft folder
- Searched forum after forum for possible solutions.
- Died inside a little bit each time a solution for somebody else didn't work for me.
- Treid old launcher with a tested, working .minecraft folder (saved from previous Windows XP Home install)
- Looked at JAVA options (from Control Panel) and tried checking, unchecking, and lowering security settings. (reset settings after it didn't work).
So I am stumped. I don't know if there's some other thing other than JAVA that Minecraft needs that I may have forgotten to install, but I was pretty sure I got it all. I'm completely stumped. I always have managed to find a solution by looking at other people's posts, but this time it didn't happen. Thus I am writing this.
If there is any more info needed, please let me know.
