So, I tried starting Minecraft today like every other day. I was going to go get those Diamonds, Redstone, and budder! But I can't do that now for some reason.
I deleted the .minecraft in my home folder and re-downloaded the Minecraft 1.6.2 launcher, I made it executable, I am using "OpenJDK Java 7 RunTime" to start it. I know this works cause that's what I used before my client went crazy, anyway after all this I try to start Minecraft up and nothing opens. No black screen, no error, nothing. I updated 143 updates from my Update Manager and that didn't even work. Remember I am using Ubuntu! Not Windows, or Mac. Just though I should point that out again.
I really wanted to play Minecraft today so I could get a horse, maybe trap a villager and....why are there no Female villagers?... .-.

EDIT: I finally found my problem out! I uninstalled Java 7 and re-installed Java8Team. If anyone else is using Ubuntu and having this problem click this link! > http://www.ubuntugeek.com/how-to-install-oracle-java-7-in-ubuntu-12-04.html < Un-install Java 7 first!
