(I'm not sure if this is the correct forum to be posting in, so just move it if this is the wrong location.)
My Minecraft Framerate is usually pretty high. This is with my Render distance on Far, Fancy Graphics, Decreased Particles, Clouds On, Bobbing Off, and Max Smooth Lightning. I actually do not have OptiFine at the moment. Here's what it's like:
No Rain / Snow, Overworld: Around 200 fps, sometimes a bit higher, or lower.
Rain / Snow, Overworld: 120-210 (Usually within that range)
Peaceful Mode, Nether: 150-270 (The only time I go down near 150 or lower is when I have occasional lag spikes)
Normal Mode, Nether: 120-270 (Is drops a bit here, as expected)
Now I use Camtasia to record my screen, which basically kills my framerate at points, but usually not too often:
No Rain / Snow, Overworld: 45 or lower
Rain / Snow, Overworld: 40 or lower (35 or lower in Snow)
Peaceful Mode, Nether: 50 or lower
Normal Mode, Nether: 45 or lower
In the Nether, my framerate will sometimes plummet when near a Fortress.
The reason I didn't include Peaceful and Normal modes in the Overworld setting is because it hardly makes a difference.
Anyways, does anyone have suggestions on how I can get my Minecraft running a bit more smoothly when running Camtasia? It's fine for now, although it's not as smooth as I'd like it to be. Also, I checked my Task Manager, and my Physical Memory is staying around 25%, if this has anything to do with it. Thanks.
If camtasia is saving to the same disk, you'll get lag there. If it compresses video on the fly, you'll get even more lag, if your cpu cant keep up. Chances are it cant. Solution? Save to a different disk than Minecraft runs off and record uncompressed AVI. (FRAPS does that) bad thing is uncompressed video takes up many gigabyte of space so youd better have a huge drive to store it on. Plus it takes forever to upload if you dont compress it first.
