D: My launcher is still 1.6.1 so I can't join most of my servers D:
I have two Windows 8 computers. On one, it automatically updated without me noticing. On this one..well, it won't update! Being a Windows 8 computer, I don't know how the heck I can uninstall Minecraft! Please let me know how to update Minecraft! (Since I suppose there is no 'force update' button anymore) or how to uninstall it!

P.S. I would much rather not waste my time uninstalling because I suck at uninstalling stuff, so somehow updating it would be better

If you just hit play, it should auto update, if you are windows 8, go to the desktop, and then control panel, add/remove programs, minecraft. Hope this helped!

My launcher thinks it is up to date..lol...
Anyway, I went to Desktop > Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall a program and Minecraft isn't there D: Weird.
More help plz?

Actually nvm, I got it working, and in the process made myself feel like an idiot.

I have the EXACT same problem as the original poster. Besides having two computers....Please help?

Open Minecraft Launcher. Go to Edit Profile. Go to Use Version. Click release 1.6.2, or latest version.

Im having the same problem but i have a mac. Please help!
