1.6 Launcher on 2013 macbook air

The new launcher works just fine on my iMac, but when I try to launch on my air, i can see the icon bounce, then it just goes away. Anyone else seeing this on the Air?

I am new to macs. Does that mean that its deleted or just not possible to run. Do you have the newest Java? *I need more info

Using Mac OSX 10.8.2, java 7 update 25. The app downloads just fine, moved to applications folder as usual, but it launches and then it quits immediately.

I even copied the files from the working iMac to the MBA, and still not launching. Anyone else seeing this?
