You never want to update graphic drivers with windows, You should always go to the website of your graphic card maker/laptop maker your self and update them. The windows search for drivers can cause more problems for you in the long run with other games.
Always use optifine. Great frame rate increases. If you are running a 64-bit machine, make sure you have 64-bit java and minecraft is launching using it. (You can do this easily using the new launcher or magic launcher's advanced settings) You could also try to assign more RAM to MC (magic launcher is easier but also possible with default launcher) Lowering render distance helps as well.

Can you guys above Anupam please say something that make Minecraft run better? Thats what this topic is for after all and about the drivers I just wanted to be more helpful than saying "google it" .

ok, give me 3000 dollars and i will be good for an upgrade XD
3000? You wouldn't need NEARLY that much. You'd just need a few hundred at max. Besides. An upgrade would also allow your PC to play other games instead of JUST minecraft.
You could show it a picture of its own unresolved bugs from last year, but usually, plopping yourself down in front of the screen should be sufficient to send it into paroxysms of terror, and you'll get that FPS back. (Doom was an old favorite.)
