The .jar is now stored inside "versions". The reason for this is because the new launcher is capable of opening multiple versions of the game and allowing you to switch between them.
For some reason the mod i installed "TooManyItems" 1.6.2 is not working. I deleted the META-INF and followed other directions. Does anybody have any suggestions?

the .jar is the Version number. Like mine for example is "1.6.2".

I got it working. Some of the instructions were not on the list i had downloaded with the mod.
