Okay so I recently bought a dedicated graphics card after using integrated for almost a year. I was really excited until when i tested it out on minecraft I had'nt gained any FPS at all. The strange thing is that I got a good 20-30 FPS boost (on max settings) on my Steam games. But really I spent $145 for the card and another $55 for a larger power supply and ended up with almost no boost for Minecraft. If anybody could tell me why it's not affecting Minecraft i'd be happy.
Specs: 2.20 gigahertz AMD A6-3620 APU Multi-core (4 total) 8170 Megabytes Usable Installed Memory 500 GB Hard Drive Old Integrated Graphics- AMD Radeon HD 653OD
New Dedicated Graphics- XFX AMD Radeon R7770 1GB DDR5
If it helps my framerate is always between 50-70 FPS before and after the upgrade. I have 4 GB allocated. My CPU usage is always below 10% when playing. Also, there was no significant FPS change when i switched launchers. Lastly, my Feed the Beast framerate hasnt changed either (40-50 FPS)
