I've been playing Minecraft for years, but now, following a reinstall of Windows 7 (64 bit), I can't add a new server without Minecraft immediately freezing as soon as it tries to poll my server list. Worse, it freezes the entire OS, including mouse and keyboard. Just stops the entire computer dead in it's tracks and I have to do a hard-reset. Happens immediately, regardless of whether I enter in a valid server address or not.
Is this a known issue that anyone else has experienced?
I have no Idea what might be causing this but try updating your network drivers? Also you can try downloading 64-bit Java JRE here: http://www.filehippo.com/download_jre_64/
