So recently I had installed Windows 8 on my PC. it previously had Windows 7, and one of the games i love to play on my pc is minecraft. So i dwonloadedd minecraft on my pc and when i launched it for the first time it crashed saying i had bad video card drivers. when i had windows 7 none of this happened. So i went to update my drivers and i have the ATI Radeon 4200 when i had windwos 7 and now when i have windows 8 it says ATI Radeon 4200 (Microsoft Corparation WDDM v1.1) and Microsoft Basic Display Adapter and that was it. There aws no other driver. what do i do?
Try to download the correct and most updated drivers for Windows 8 off of AMD's website. Go here http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx and type in your exact card data. Then install it using the instructions it gives, and hopefully it will work with Windows 8. Your problem possibly could be that your current graphics drivers are not compatible with Win8 (not completely sure about that though). Updating them should fix it if that is the problem.
