Hello all. I have posted about this issue over a year and a half ago, and to my dismay, Minecraft developers have not yet implemented fully-configurable controls. My particular gripe is with the mouse wheel, and judging by some of the replies to my original post, I am not alone who thinks that being locked into what someone thinks the control configuration should be is a problem, not to mention a bit offensive. No other game that I play prevents me from remapping the mouse wheel, or the "action" button, or sprint except Minecraft. Double-tapping forward to sprint is very clunky in my opinion, as is the inability to remap Shift to a more convenient key.

The game has now reached version 1.6.2 and still no change. Will we ever see fully-configurable controls in Minecraft?

I have to agree with you about the inability to change some control settings on the PC version of the game. My kids have gotten me into this game, and I am not new to gaming, the big problem I run into is with the movement, what I mean is having the ability to use the arrow keys for not just moving forward and back and stepping to the left and right and only being able to be able to turn with the mouse. I would like to be able to be walking, or running and use the arrow keys to be able to TURN my character while running and jumping. The inability to do this makes me rethink playing this game. I am wondering if there is a mod out there that will let me do this, or even a mod that will let me use my PC Xbox 360 controller.
