Recently updated to 1.6.1 update an my controls were perfectly fine before in 1.5.2. Before I was more then able to Shift click an normally click to move items in my inventory. Now in the 1.6.1 update I for some reason have to click hold an drag the item in my inventory to even move it. I have uninstalled an re-installed Minecrafts new launcher multiple times an no results.

Anyone have any idea what could be wrong?

Have you perhaps accidentally enabled Touchscreen Mode? In the in-game pause menu, go to Options and make sure it says 'Touchscreen Mode: OFF'.
