When I try to play with settings on 1.5.2 for the version I want on the launcher. It opens minecraft with a black screen and before it opens the screen with "Mojang" on it the app crashes. In the development console on the launcher it says

so something having to do with an invalid memory access of lacation 0x0 rip=0x0 I dont know what that means please help.

Wild guess but if you have any mods it could by why, backup the .minecraft folder, delete the original, run Minecraft 1.6.1 and 1.5.2, if that works then install the mods again. (if you had any)

Just remember to back up the .minecraft folder in case it still doesn't work.

thankyou i did have nodus on the old 1.5.2 launcher and files but when it updated i deleted the minecraft file (im on a mac) and ran the new launcher which created i new folder and files then i just put the server.dat file and saves file that i took from old minecraft folder so i wouldnt lose saves or have to retype server ips. other then that i do not have or have installed any mods on the new launcher files since nodus is no longer supported for 1.6.1 so that isnt the problem i believe.

New update I did some research on the mojang forums and all the identical problems with the invalid memory error is a mac osx 10.5 thing where as i am running osx 10.6.8 the latest version of snow leopard which supposed to be supported by the new launcher so i do not know why my computer is having a problem running any of the version before 1.6 on the new launcher. Please if some has any ideas let me know I would really like to use this feature. I HAVE NO MODS AND AM RUNNING MAC OSX 10.6.8 so please HELP!!!!!
