My main computer is comatose (needs mobo, no point crying about it). My netbook can't handle MineCraft, so I'm running it on my dad's backup desktop (yes, we have a lot of computers).
The box in question is a Dell "Hybird", i.e. laptop componants in a tiny desktop box. I started it up about a week ago with MineCraft 1.5 and it worked fine.
Since 1.6, things have gotten... strange.
I play single-player, survival, btw.
Sometimes I get the bug wherein blocks I've destroyed will reappear for a second or so and then vanish again and drop.
Even wierder (and this is the part I haven't been able to find any info about online) when I look at the sky, the stars and moon (or sun and clouds) will drift along like normal, then jump back a little bit. It's as if every 5 seconds, the game clock jumps back 2 seconds.
In a MP game, I'd chalk this up to latency or lag, but as I said, I'm not playing online. It even seems to happen when I'm not connected to the 'net.
The most bizarre thing is that when the game is running like this, with no other programs, neither the CPU or RAM usage are anywhere near maxed out.
Actually, this is more common in SMP, or as far as I have seen. Empherii is right, its not 1.6, this has happened since I first joined minecraft, almost a year ago. It sucks, but I don't think theres a way to fix it.
Do you happen to be running on Intel graphics? Your symptoms are of having too long of game ticks. Generally this is caused by an overloaded CPU but there is bug in Intel drivers that limits GPU/CPU usage on Intel graphics using the new launcher.
Upon further observation, this strangeness only happens at night (game night, that is).
It seems to kick in randomly after sundown, but disappears as soon as the sun is fully up and the moon and stars are gone.
As for the Intel graphics, I have no idea. As I said, this box is basically a laptop, so I have no idea about the GPU. It is and Intel chip, though, so maybe.
I'm making do and waiting for 1.6.2's full release.

Any thoughts?
