Ram usage goes up and down.

When I play minecraft, the ram usage goes up to maybe 300MB and then goes back down to around 70MB. When it goes down I experience a really tiny lag spike.

Is this normal?

How much ram do you have?

And if the change in ram usage doesn't affect your gameplay too much, it should be fine

I have 8gb of ram on my laptop.
I have allowed minecraft to use up to 1gb of ram.
