I can barely play Minecraft because when I do, after a while it starts freezing. Lasts about 5 seconds usually and they start out every 5 seconds or so, and then gets to the point where it's every ing second.
I'm running several mods but this was happening in vanilla as well so I doubt they're the problem.
I've searched and searched for a solution but nothing fixed it. Everyone was saying "oh I did this or this or this and it fixed it" Not for me.
If this was a widespread problem (Everyone in those threads says they get it too but aside from that I haven't heard anyone complaining about it) I imagine they'd have fixed it by now, so it must be something on my end.
Anyone know what's the matter? RAM isn't the problem since I've already allocated the game 3 gigs.
I suggest you allocate Minecraft LESS RAM. A high amount of RAM causes more lag. If less than 3 gigs causes Minecraft to run out of memory, then set your video settings to:
Graphics: Fast
Smooth Lighting: Off
Particles: Minimal
Render Distance: Tiny (not recommended) Short or Normal
Performance: Max FPS
View Bobbing: Off
Clouds: Off
And if THAT doesn't make any difference, download MCpatcher or Optifine.
That's about all I can say.
Hope this helps

I set graphics to fast and allocated 2GB instead of 3. Performance was already Max FPS and I've already got Optifine. No freezing as of yet. Thanks.
