Could not log in: Cannot contact authentication server

When I try to log in the launcher takes 10 seconds before spewing out that message, this has been going on for 3 days now and I haven't found any solutions please help quick

Windows 8, delete minecraft's folder completely and reinstall it, I got a different bug now that I posted in a new thread
