Hey guys and gals,

Recently I've been playing MP survival servers with some of my friends, but since the 1.6.1 update the game has become COMPLETELY unplayable. I can run around, dig, mine, do whatever for up to 5 minutes before it crashes for one of two errors. (Sometimes I can't even play for 10 seconds)

I was going to upload screenshots but don't know how, so the errors are;

"CONNECTION LOST: Internal exception: java.net.SocketTimeoutException: Read timed out."

"CONNECTION LOST: Internal exception: java.net.SocketException: Software caused connection abort: recv failed"

I've googled around and tried a few fixes suggested such as portforwarding to 25565 and updating my ethernet drivers. I've even allocated 2GB of RAM to java.

I've got no idea why it's doing this, especially since it wasn't doing it before.

If it means anything I've got a BOB2 iinet router.

It is incredibly frustrating.

This does sound like a connection problem, but try re-installing java. It won't hurt to try

Re-installed java, but unfortunately it didn't make a difference... :/

Now everything seems to be working fine, I didn't get around to changing the firmware so it must have been the server itself.
Maybe they had problems with the update or something like that.

Same topic....slightly different issue...

1.5.2 works great...can play online

1.6.1 downloaded and unable to play multi-player, auto-upgrade to 1.6.2 and still cant get online with ANY servers...they ALL poll but the servers either "cannot resolve hostname" or "can't reach server...could only play 1.6.2 in offline, logged off then re-logged and at least can now see multi-player.

The servers I've tried are the first 10 displayed here in the servers area after a filter sort creative, G, pg-13....

-Plotcraft
-Minecraft Addicts
-MC Bukkit server
-Servercraft
-Diamondcraft
-WElcome to the Server
-Oliveleafs
-Kingdomcraft
-D129 Minecraft Servers (1.6.1)

I loaded, removed, reloaded Java 7.25....

NOT receiving ANY errors. Internet golden

Are you just unable to join servers at all?

Because it automatically updates, I'm pretty sure it means you can't play a server until the host updates to the same version.

Which is a real pain in the butt...

At leat you can play for ten seconds! I can't even go on it says "Failed Login : Bad Login"

unable to join the servers... you can see it poll the server, then went red X ..

Able to see/connect to a couple of Severs now...must have been servers not upgraded to 1.6.1/1.6.2?? Also Looking for a GOOD server for a great 6-year old autistic little man who loves minecraft and he doesn't grief...loves to build....
