HI
I have this weird issue where my fps drops in 1.6.1. but here is the strange part when i updated the game i started a new world and in this new world i get an average of 20 to 25 on max settings. but if i play on my old world from before the update i get 40 to 50 fps on max settings. One thing i thought might be causing it was the fact that i have 5 horses in my new world and none in my old world. but even if i completely leave the area it only brings me up to about 30 fps.
Is anybody else having a problem like this?
Does anybody know how to fix it?
IS this a bug that will be fixed in the next update?
Please Reply.
I have the same problem. In 1.5 I got around 60-75 fps, now I'm lucky to get 15. I don't think there's a way to fix it which I'm assuming since I've seen many posts like this with no confirmed answers.
I'm pretty sure we just have to wait until the next update, I just hope Mojang sees this and is able to get it worked out in the next update.
4 options
1) add more ram to minecraft
--Warning--
if you have less then 4 gigaytes of ram do not use this option it will slow down minecraft further
-start launcer
-click "new profile"
-name it something
-check the box next to "JVM arguments" (optionally you can relace Xmx1G with Xmx2G if you have more than 4 gigs of ram(note that G stands for gigabytes, A good rule of thumb when adding ram to an app is to leave altleast 2 gigabytes of ram to the OS and any other applications))
2) Enable "Advanced openGL"
-start minecraft normally
-pause the game and go to options>video settings and click "Advanced openGL" so that it says on
3) Do both of the above
if your computer has 4 gigs of ram or more it can (probably) spair atleast one gig. if you have less than 4 gigs of ram do not add more ram to minecraft just use options 2 and/or 4
4) install optifine
-download optifine (once it is complete)
-install like any other mod

When i add any more RAM than 1 a get an error saying "could not create the java virtual machine. program will exit" even though i have 4 g of ram
When i turn oped gl on it slows it down more
and i dont know how to mod
Without stating your hardware specs, you can't get this bug fixed.
