I just installed Minecraft on a used PC I was given.
OS: Vista 64-bit
Java: Just downloaded it for the first time today on this PC. Latest version.
Minecraft: 1.6
Graphics card: Radeon X1950 Pro
CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad 2.4 GHz
RAM: 8 GB
Not long after starting a game in Minecraft, the graphics begin to go absolutely insane. Textures in certain areas are replaced by solid masses of single colors (mostly red) and transparent striped masses. There's also a slight visual lag when this starts occurring, almost like a signal that it's about to happen. Another signal is that most item icons and handheld items become invisible in the GUI or flicker.
I've tested the PrtScn button and I know it works, but whenever I take a screenshot of the game during this glitchiness, the clipboard either comes up empty, or it pops up saying the content can't be pasted. Also early on, taking in-game screenshots with F2 would trigger the game to immediately run out of memory (It's set at the default -Xmx1G)
I first got a video of it on my phone, because I couldn't figure out any other way, but then I managed to get some snapshots without it crashing.
Video:
Note the items appearing and disappearing in the GUI in the pictures.
Is my video card just melting already? It works fine in some other 3D games. (Although another problem is that it doesn't render fullscreen Youtube properly either).
