I get 55-60 fps in Crysis 3 (max settings + FXAA)...
40-55fps in Minecraft vanilla (After loading a lot of chunks runs at maximum 145fps but falls when I'm walking)
15-25fps in Minecraft with SEUS shaders mod + Optifine
Only Java is running that bad...
My hardware:
AMD Phenom II x6 Black Edition (6 cores)
Nvidia GTX 680 Super Overclock (Gigabyte)
10GB RAM Corsair 1333ghz
Windows 7, Java and drivers are up to date...
Change the view distance do nothing.
Anyone knows the problem? :/
In the Launcher, click Edit Profile, and check "JVM Arguments" and change it to "-Xmx5G" (without quotes). (5 is an example, you can choose the amount of memory you want, just make sure your computer will be stable.)
Here's the thing.
Minecraft has to load all these seperate chunks on the x,y and z axis in realtime.
Render distance DOES affect fps performance.
EskimoNoise tested SEUS on minecraft and got 60 fps from an originally 400+ Fps without shaders on far Minecraft FPS Optimization Guide by IronWaffle http://www.minecraft...on-mar-14-2013/ SEUS Increase performance http://www.minecraft...le-shaders-mod/
And also make sure you are running Java-64bit on a 64-bit machine and check for multiple java installs

It does change a lot. I've seen people who went from 20-30 fps to 50+ with that method.

I tried 512mb, 1gb, 2gb, 4gb, 8gb... FPS still the same, it's not a problem with the amount of RAM apparently
Did you not seen my configs? It should runs at least 200 fps
Crysis 3 runs smoothly all maxed out, 1080p with FXAA at 55-60 fps
Battlefield 3 maxed out runs at more than 100 fps too
So the problem is you trying to play with SEUS?
Games like CoD, Battlefield, Crysis, etc are pre-rendered games according to EskimoNoise.
MC loads chunks every time you go anywhere in the world times that with the fact that it has to calculate where the shadow positioon is and then the GPU has to render it and times THAT with the render distance you are using. All of this in RealTime
Most games have a this floor as you can't actually mine it and not all objects aren't interactive.
MC is, so lower your settings and don't play on far and reduce quality.
Is THIS so hard???

Are you blind? I have one of the most powerful GPU available on the market, why worst GPU runs Minecraft with over 400 fps then?
This is not a hardware problem, it is a software problem. And only affects Java.
(Tried Heaven Benchmark OpenGL and it runs over 60 fps)
Changing any setting in Minecraft hardly increases the fps in my case. (Even vanilla Minecraft)
(Correction: Games like CoD, Battlefield, Crysis are not pre-rendered. Pre-rendered games are like Mortal Kombat, Killer Instinct, Donkey Kong, and all this games is from SNES. Pre-rendered is a image of something 3D, a lot of images make a animation or moviment, so you're wrong.)
Look, MC is coded in Java, which is not meant to be used in a full fledged "game", reduce MC settings, Reduce SEUS settings like shadow res and use that SEUS increase fps guide link i gave, if this doesnt help increase fps, please explain why i got 32 fps on SEUS standard v08 after i modified it when it was originally 15 fps unmodified on a Nvidia GeForce 610M on normal render distance?

Now tell me something that I don't know. I'VE SEEM MINECRAFT RUNNING AT OVER 400 FPS IN GTX 560 Ti
Even the Sonic Ether runs the latest version of the mod with more than 70 fps whitout reduce any settings with this GPU.
You seem to never seen minecraft running well. I need help too fella. Open your eyes.
I play games on pc since 1995, I'm developer for a decade, I know what I'm talking.
And is precisely why I say, there's something wrong with Java on my computer (on your computer as well).
I've seen people who ran at over 700 fps and from one day to another without any change in the game, the fps dropped to less than 15. It is a serious problem.
Who plays in low-end computers or laptops don't notice that the game should run much better than that.
Why you think my PC should run the game like yours? My PC is way better, there's no reason to get lower than 80 fps with SEUS. You can't really see the real problem?
This is just a temp fix for people who only have integrated cards, but has worked once for my friend that has a dedicated card.
All you have to do is delete everything in your .minecraft folder (except your saves) and receive the updated files. I must note that this DOES NOT always work, and is not a very great fix. Your FPS might fluctuate but it is much faster then before.
If this does not work, I guess you have to just wait it out like the thousands of other players. (I included)
Edit: I figure I should have asked if your performance has been this low before the 1.6 update?
xtelmosx
This is happening with any version.
Not sure if it's only with Minecraft, I think may be happening with any 3D Java application...
There's Java benchmarks to be sure?
I'll try what you said anyway and tell the results.
okay i get, btw im geforce 610m not 610 but if you don't buy it from me explaining SEUS really bogs down a computer, sometimes MC is a little bit hardware straining game than some top notch graphical game, jump on to the official foum thread of Sonic Ethers Unbelievable Shaders mod where EskimoNoise will help you
Also, whta MC version are you on? Didn't ask.

GTX 610M = Mobile version of GTX 610 = Lower performance than the normal version
Whatever, no matter the version, no matter if the the game installation is clean and new, the result is the same here.
Again, it's not just a problem with the SEUS, but the game itself, maybe even with the performance of Java for some unknown problem. Minecraft without any mods are getting low fps too.
Even the resolution don't change anything. (Full screen 1080p or windowed)
I'm using 1.5.2 right now (SEUS beta M6 only work with that version)

Wait you're using SEUS beta?
SEUS is a shaderpack so you need GLSL Shaders mod to be updated SEUS works on any version
I know of all these problems...
But AMD Phenom II x6 1090T Black Edition (6 cores) with 3.2ghz is not good enough??
OpenGL is running fine, I tried Heaven's Benchmark Extreme with OpenGL and get more than 60 fps.
