I used to play on medium settings in 1.5.2 and hit about 80-90 fps, and at the lowest, it would be almost 200. When i got the launcher, I hit 10 fps at my original settings and 30 fps on lowest. Please help. I really want to play like I did a few days ago. I do not have NVidia or another graphics card.
I'm having the same problem at you, pal. When I recorded I used to get 30 fps (100 when not) but now I get 5-8 fps. I can't help you fix it, but try increasing your ram. Click on Edit Profile and if you go the bottom replace the 1 with 5 or 6. It should work for a bit. It's a bug that's plaguing Minecraft and I hope Jeb fixes it soon.
Same problem, near same specs as your laptop. I have a i7, 8G ram, intel 4000 integrated graphics card, this is technically a bad thing, but in 1.5.2 it used to run 50-100 fps full graphics, but has now dropped to an average 5-20 fps in 1.6 :/
And yeah you should do Edit Profile, change the 1 to 3-4, not too much cuz you only have 6G RAMAlso I have increased my RAM to 4G with no difference, the low framerate persists

Yeah apparently it is a bug, and hopefully it gets fixed!!!
For now I'm in 1.5.2, so yeah, kinda sucks cuz I have a horse so I can't use the same world, I basically stopped playing minecraft alltogether because there's the chance 1.6 is fixed and all my work in the previous world will be lost(I want a fresh world in 1.6)
Just wanted to bump this because I'm having this issue and apparently lots of people do. Without optifine it makes the game barely playable.
I even have a dedicated graphic card, it's not the best (GeForce GT 540m) but playing with 10 FPS or less is tough.
Fortunately this is bovinoid fertilizer (bullsh....). The launcher has a socket for receiving the console output from the game, that's it.
The FPS drop is due to something in your system, so you have to tell your OS, CPU, RAM, video card.
Not at all if it was something from the system spec it whould have been affecting before using the new luncher anyways if u would read around the forums u would see most people saying the same thing. anyways i bet when a new update comes for the luncher the issue will be resolve. Also no need for harsh words my friend
I was looking and i saw the "edit profile and change the 1 to 5 or 6, how do you do that? When i click edit profile i dont get anything that has like changable numbers at or near the bottom
There is a bug in the new launcher that makes it conflict with Intel HD drivers. See my bug report here: https://mojang.atlassian.net/browse/MCL-767 For now there is nothing you can do to fix it.
