I am using the most recent Minecraft and when I use 1.6.1 or change my settings on the launcher to use 1.5.2 or 1.5.1 it still has extreme lag I will normaly get over 100 on super flat and about 100 on a non super flat world but now it drops down 20 at the most on each and the lowest is 7 or 6.On a world I made after the update I had a piston when the piston was off mobs moved slow but when it was on mobs would become extremely fast.This was when I first discovered that I was getting lag from the new update.I was getting lag on the snapshot but I disregarded it since it was only in development and I expected it to have bugs.Since I only got lag on the snapshot and the new update like many other people I do believe it is due to the new launcher.My computer is a Dell inspiron 15 with Windows 8 64 gb operating system and 922 gb storage.What can I do to make my Minecraft run back to normal.

I know.Lag will always be the biggest problem because if everyone is getting lag then no one can play so other bugs don't matter if no one or mostly everyone cant play.The other thing that bothered me wasn't a problem or a bug but that if you modify item attributes they have a cap for at least health boost.I used to think it was cool that you could have hearts that could go off screen now its capped at 50.
