I had updated my minecraft to 1.6 yesterday, and I thought, "oh, this'll be cool." But, uh, yeah, no.
In 1.5.2 I could run the game with the most advanced settings; in the most occupied servers; have multiple windows (skype, quicktime, internet, ect.) open, and have no lag whatsoever.
Now I have to lower everything as far as it can go, and I still get massive lag.
I'm using a 2.6 GHz Intel Core i7 4GB Macbook Pro (mid- 2012 version)
And I have the NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M set as my default graphics card, but I also have the Intel HD Graphics 4000 built in.
I'm using the newest version of Java (JDK8 64bit)
I had lag when I had just created a world, with nothing added at all. Like, the fps were down to around 15-20. I can usually run way higher than that.
I've seen some articles about people with similar problems, but any solution they have doesn't help me.
Seriously, if I could get some help I'd appreciate it cause I'm dying here e.e
The newest version of Java is not Java 8. It is an unofficial experimental build.
Uninstall everything Java and go back to Java 7 64bit. Then in the launcher, select Edit Profile and edit the JVM Argument to as follows: -Xmx2G -Xms2G
I've pretty much tried everything I can find, and no luck. So I'm kinda just gonna give up on the 1.6 launcher all together, and just stick with 1.5.2 because even if I tried 1.5.2 in the 1.6 launcher it sucked, but the 1.5.2 launcher works amazingly without lag at all. So it's obviously not a server/computer problem, it's the launcher itself, or at least the launcher cooperation with my laptop. Either way, I'm sticking with the 1.5.2 launcher.
I have also noticed that the sprint in 1.6 is way off, and when I say that i mean I try to sprint, it is delayed for about a second, and then I sprint. If you know any solutions to this please tell me, cause being a big MCSG (Minecraft Survival Games) player, this is a very big problem.
