ResorcePacks.... nothing in MC but in finder....

and so ya, i restarted MC and the Launcher... nothing very weird. and YES its in the right directory

Each Resource Pack needs a pack.png and a pack.mcmeta in the Resource Pack's folder.

Open the 1.6.1.jar with a zip runner or archiver and search "pack" and highlight the pack.png and pack.mcmeta, and copy and paste them into the Resource Pack's folder.
You can edit the pack.mcmeta where it says
"description": "The default look of Minecraft"

Edit where it says
The default look of Minecraft
