Before you start telling me to get a new computer and what-not, I think this is not about the computer specs that is causing this 1.6 lag problems.

Before 1.6, I've been getting 60-90 fps easy with i3 16G computer. But now, in 1.6.1 release with the new launcher, I've been getting 6-18 fps:(

I've noticed that many of my close friends do not experience this problem, and I have a better computer spec than them, so the chances are, it's not Mojang's problem.

Please help me out at this.

-Latest java was installed.
-allocated more memory.
-defragged my Drive.
-rebooted numerous times.
-removed .minecraft and downloaded again.
-got the latest minecraft launcher for 1.6.1.
-installed 'Optifine'.
-PLEASE LEAVE SUGGESTIONS!

If you have an intel GPU there's a bug in the intel drivers that causes the new launcher to run slowly.

Is there any way to fix this? I have the intel HD 4000 and I got ~100 fps on the old launcher, now I am lucky to get 20. Please Help.

im pretty sure it would be BUT THERE IS A POSSABILITY OF NO

I'm having the same problem, but I have a Radeon graphics card.

does anyone know what to do?

I have the same problem I mainly notice it while playing Minecraft Survival games where I will have about 30 - 40 FPS while in the lobby and I will have about 100 - 150 while in the actual game, acording to F3. I used to run With about 400 - 450. (I do not use anything else to check my framerate). during singelplayer it is the same as in game MCSG (100 - 150) I do realise that it is not a terrible framerate and a lot of People wish for framerate like that, but it bugs me knowing my computer could handle more.

my specs are:

Intel I7 (4 cores 8 threads 3,20 GHz)
AMD Radeon HD 6990
Sabertooth X58 motherboard
16 GB DDR3 Ram
