I play Minecraft in 640x480 screen resolution to get rid of extreme lag. It boosts my FPS on average from 20 to 140. I managed to do this by right clicking the program, going to properties, compatibility, and checking the 640x480 resolution box.
Here's the problem. With the new launcher, the launcher opens on normal resolution, even though the low res box is checked off. Why is this happening? Without this setting enabled, I cannot play Minecraft, due to extreme lag.
Click on "Edit Profile" and set your game resolution there.
But when I go into full screen, it goes to full resolution. I forgot to state that. Before, it was still at low resolution, but enlarged in full screen, making the screen a bit blurry.
