Does anyone know how to fix this? The computer is a Macbook Pro.
I had this problem today and get this: it was because my PC's clock was set wrong. Set your PC's clock to the correct time and date and try again. I couldn't believe it, but that was the problem.

Yeah i had that problem on my mac desktop. It was an easy fix. Just download the linux/other launcher and run that. You can either play off that, or switch back to the mac one after you download the files. Hope this helped
Can anyone help with this (possible) error screen?

PLZ help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
First, check if the version of your Mac OSX is current, (Higher than 10.8.x)
Update your Java, go to Java.com and download the latest Mac OS version.
Delete your current launcher, everything that has to do with it. (Obliterate it!)
Re-download the launcher.
Restart
If this fails, you can always get a different Mineecraft Client, such as MagicLauncher.
I have 32 bit MacBook Pro. I have the latest update of java (Java 7 Update 25) but I have not tried to redownload it. It worked on another imac but I can't get it to work on a MacBook Pro. I'll try that too.

Good Luck.
The problem is that I don't have a Mac, I have a PC.
It's a problem, because I can't play Minecraft.
I guess they have minecraft in browser back... Has anyone even looked at the log that came up when I tried to run the application? And what is this broken or missing root? Does it require a minecraft file or .jar?

So what ever bit you downloaded re-download the other one. Sorry if it is confusing but re-read it a couple times and you'll understand.
1. Where do you download the 32/64 bit?
2. So should I download 32 bit or 64 bit?
