This problem has been on and off for the past year, and now it's at an all time high. When on servers I often have serious connection issues and often get a timeout error. It's at it's worse when I am connecting to a server that I'm hosting off my laptop. This error has occurred in both FTB and Vanilla. The fact that I have a worse connection when connecting to my laptop from my desktop leads me to believe that they are both effected by it. I have Norton 360 and I am suspicious that it is throttling my connection with some firewall bullpoop. If anyone has any ideas, I'd love to hear them.

All though pinging a MC server gives me 80ms - 2150ms (It's very unstable it seems)
I have the same problem on one of my laptops, whereas my other 2 laptop runs fine. I can play a solo game but when I try to connect to a server or a game hosted on my laptop the connection is horrendous, the map doesn't load up properly and the connection is spotty, and randomly I get timed out. It just started yesterday after we updated to minecraft 1.6.
