Hello all. Having a delimma here that neither I nor my friend can seem to reach a solution on. My friend in question is the one who owns and operates the server, so he is an admin.
The issue that he is having has never happened to me or anyone else I know before, and it has never happened to him before up until now. We recently made our server public, and its been that way for maybe a week or so now without any issues.
Just a few hours ago he was still able to play on the server with no issues. Then out of the blue he is no longer able to stay connected without getting the read exception java error after a few mins of being connected. Immediately after connecting his client is unable to keep up with the game world. Nothing he types or anything I type will come through for him, no commands work, he is essentially lagging into oblivion as soon as he connects.
His single player works fine, and connecting to other servers works fine, but amazingly ours does not work. I am still able to connect fine and a few of our players can too.
After he reinstalled minecraft about 3 times and updated/reinstalled java on his computer, nothing still works. In fact, both of his computers go through the same error and even when he connected to a hotspot on his phone it still does the same thing. After rebooting his router and modem several times, the problem persits. After rebooting the minecraft process, the server the minecraft server itself is on, STILL the problem for ONLY him persists. If i log into his account here at my house its fine, even if he logs into my account at his house, you guessed it... the problem persists.
At this point, could it be a problem with his ISP or a local DNS, perhaps with the ISP in its handling of any perticular protocols MC uses? It would seem logging into MC has you going though mojang's login servers then off to your server of choice so is there a communication break down between mojang and ISP... for only his region of his ISP?
To sum it up, everything humanly possible has been done at this point. All traces of MC were wiped from his computers several times, Java was reinstalled and updated several times, all machines and devices on the network were rebooted at his house as well as the server and MC process remotely rebooted.
Who else has ever heard of an issue that literally affects a single human being?
Thanks for taking the time to read my post. There has got to be someone who has to offer an explanation.
