Use the old launcher and click "Options", then "Force Update". This should work. If not, backup all your saves and texture packs, and delete everything.

This didn't work for me. (I didn't back up my saves but I don't care about them) I deleted the execute file and the .minecraft folder. Then I redownloaded the execute and force updated it but I still got a blackscreen
Edit: Can you also tell me how to do that yellow thing? Like copying the comments because you want to reply to him? Im new so please tell me.Thank you.
hi I'm new to minecraft and have 3 different computers that it is downloaded on it worked on all of them at first. then one this one (windows vista) started with black screen after my son made some adjustments to the options screen and i haven't been able to get it to work since.
Then launch minecraft, and you are good to go.
Wow you deleted your minecraft folder? You would have to atleast find a minecraft folder in google/youtube or get other people's folder.

But please make a backup of your worlds, And please do not try to do this if you think it's risky.
I sometimes do that.
