So I have a minecraft map that my friends and I have been working on for a long time. It is a creative mode map that I open to LAN for others to play it with me. I've been using the map with all of the latest snapshots (Currently 1.6 Pre-Release), but recently I've been getting a lot of errors with chunk rendering. Last week I wasn't able to even play on the world because it's been lagging and trying to render so much. Usually it does like 3 chunks every 5 minutes or something like that. Finally I just let it sit there for a while, and I found that in one chunk there were like thousands of horses all of the same breed and texture everywhere. Me or my friends didn't spawn them at all and have not really been playing in that area. So to get rid of the horses I had to log into minecraft 1.5 and lose all of my other horses and carpet blocks etc. After I did that my world started properly working again and everything was back to normal.
Today, I was working on the world again and all of the sudden my minecraft crashed and quit. When I got back on the world, the same exact chunk rendering issue happened again. It probably loads 1 chunk every 3 minutes if I'm lucky. I haven't found any chunks filled with mobs yet. I tried quitting minecraft and then re-opening it but the same issue. When I log into the single player world, I press "Play World" or whatever it is, and then minecraft goes back to the title screen. If I wait for like 2 minutes, then the title screen will go away and the loading screen will pop up. After the loading screen finally finishes, the same chunk problem. I don't think that it is my computer because it is on a MacBook Pro running Mountain Lion.
If you have any suggestions or a way to fix this, please help me. Thanks in advance.
If your world got corrupted you can try to repair it with MCEdit. Open the offending world in MCEdit, press 'ctrl-i' and select 'Repair regions' in the dialogue which pops up. Once this has completed, save your world and exit MCEdit.
To download MCEdit, go to http://www.mcedit.net/ and choose the version appropriate for your OS.
I am getting the exact same thing. The thing is, it only happens to one of my worlds. I can play on the rest of the maps just fine.
I tried repairing my world with MCEdit, but that did not help.
Upload to an filehoster and i fix it. (Most times its someware an entity overrun.)
