Help! I've been running Minecraft 1.5.2 for a few days, then I tried to open the game, and it said
"Error: Could not create the Java Virtual Machine."
Then:
"Error: A fatal exception has occurred. Program will exit.''
I've tried many different websites, but none of them seemed to work. I've tried .bat files and none seemed to work, though that is the most highly suggested solution! Please help me!
I'm actually having the same problem as well :C
i clicked the link you posted cestislife and though it pops up when i click on "play" it come up with the same thing
Error: could not create the java virtual machine
Error: A fatal exception has occurred. Program will exit.

I would appreciate it if you created your own thread for your own issues.
But click on "edit profile", and tick "JVM arguments". Remove what is already there and type in

Save the profile then run the game.
It worked but the main reason why I was getting this error is because I wanted to allocate 2GB of ram to minecraft, I don't know why it doesn't work because i have 4GB of ram. Help

You cannot allocate more than ~1.5gb of ram if you only have 32-bit Java.
I don't really see how that would be a good thing, do we really want one topic for every person getting this error?
Bear in mind that this is a support section. It is okay to create your own thread for your own issues, and we encourage it. The fact that the error happens because of a multitude of other factors and that having more than one user posting in a thread will confuse the thread author even more, the cons outweigh the pros in this case.
Yes,the forum management insist that everyone create a thread about their own issues in this particular section.
Ok so I'm now getting this error after having tried to type in the JVM Argument "-Xmx2G" in attempt to allocate more RAM to Minecraft as I have been receiving a lot of crashes due to minecraft "running out of memory" I also have 4GB RAM and I followed the minecraft advice of installing the latest 64-bit Java, I don't understand how it won't let me allocate 2GB RAM.
Pretty much the exact same thing here, I have 64-bit, and 8GB RAM. Shouldn't that be enough?
