Ladder glitch

For some reason, I haven't been able to climb ladders. When I try to get on a ladder, I can't. When I go on top a ladder, I just fall down. Anyone help?

Does it happen in multiplayer or just singleplayer? If just singelplayer, it may be bugged, in which case, just reinstall Minecraft (Force Update it).

It happens in both multiplayer and singleplayer. I'll try force updating.
