I have 2 660ti's and i5 3570k and 8gb of ram, this is a gaming rig. I don't understand why sometime my mine craft will run fine for 20 mins then all of a sudden lagg like crazy then I need to restart it. I have to run the game on low or it doesn't work.
Can some one help me, Im pretty sure my computer should be able to run minecraft at max.
Hello. Recently, I found an old WIndows XP in my garage. So I went and bought a mouse and keyboard for it (I didn't have those for it originally). So then, after all the updates(Except video card because i thought the auto installer would already do that), I downloaded the Minecraft Launcher. I tried logging in to Minecraft. It gave me the black screen... and came up with this error report:
Bad video card drivers!
-----------------------
Minecraft was unable to start because it failed to find an accelerated OpenGL mode.
This can usually be fixed by updating the video card drivers.

Can anyone help? I found an update for my video card, (Which is the VIA/S3G UniChrome Pro IGP) but it wouldnt work. And according to the DriverUpdate scanner, it has never been updated! Please! I need help with this! I really wanna play Minecraft!
P.S: Java is up to date on this XP.
When I say it has never been updated, I mean it has never been updated by the computer user, not the company.
I've had many experiences with lag myself. The only proper way to fix lag is by making sure you have done the following:
1) Disk defragmented your hard drive. (This could take up to a day depending on how much space is within your drive)
2) Perform a Disk Cleanup (This is a quick process that can take up time between 5-7 minutes, which clears temp. files etc...)
3) download OptiFine Standard 1.5.2 (This is probably most vital while attempting to rid of lag, and lag spikes). What OptiFine will do for you is provide you with a vast amount of options to choose from to edit your video settings. After I downlaoded OptiFine and tweaked the settings I began to receive instant results. I went from a low 27-30 FPS at a server spawn all the way to 87-109 FPS at a server spawn. I know how frustration it can be while dealing with these types of issues thats why I hoped I helped you solve this issue.
Sorry Alex. Just thought I should post it here. BTW Like I said before the driver is made by VIA, a brand I haven ever heard of. Help on this would be much appreciated
