This started happening yesterday. Whenever I log on to Minecraft 1.5.2, I get this error 126. Whenever I log onto a snapshot, though, I don’t get this error code.
Please tell me/advise on how to fix.
The second totally unneeded and/or totally useless and/or totally unnecessary and/or totally stupid and/or totally annoying and/or totally etc. bump that I made.

When I try to play the browser version of Minecraft, it doesn’t work because I “don’t have ‘Java(TM)’”. Chrome tells me this, then asks me if I want to install it. When I click “install plug-in”, it leads me to an older version of Java. Specifically Version 7 Update 25.

Try the other solutions, specifically reinstalling java.
I did that before downloading the 1.6 launcher, and it works. I can’t get the old launcher to open, no matter what. But anyway, I think the problem is resolved.
