I would like to go on record and state I own a legitimate copy of Minecraft.
Purchased from Minecraft.net by myself...
Now I'm a minecraft noob and so when I wanted to learn how to install a texture pack and so on
I went on youtube and looked at tutorials. I'm a noob give me a beak.
They often told me to locate the Bin folder.. Which I never could.
The only way I was able to locate my Texture pack folder was in game from the texture pack selector page.
Now I went ahead and installed a new texture pack today but silly me I clicked the one that was too powerful for my MacBook pro.
It crashed my game and now I am unable to get past the log in as it freezes at the Mojang page.. (I realize this happens because there isn't enough Ram)
(and I mean freezes I've left it for hours and it is still stuck there)
I wanted to delete the texture pack but that brings me back to that initial issue.
I can't locate those files ANYWHERE!!
I have searched my computer files and can only find (aside from the launcher)
a Minecraft folder which has a folder for the client, server, and minecraft.jar)
I can't even locate any of my saved single player games.
How is my Minecraft even running?! (well prior to the whole texture pack issue)
Is there ANYWAY to find these folders or is my best bet to simply cut my losses, give up my saved files,
delete every minecraft file I can find, and try re-installing it?
As stated in my above post. I have already searched everywhere I could think of. And I already googled and youtubed to try and see where these files are supposed to be. But thanks anyway. This is all that can be located in that minecraft folder.
I use XP, so this may not be true for you, but it seems that the pictures right there are in the "Minecraft" folder. On XP all of the Minecraft files are under ".minecraft" notice the DOT or period if you will.
I have searched and no where on my computer can .Minecraft be found. I have tried searching for the Texture pack folder on it's own. I have tried searching for my saved files. Aside from the launcher those are the only minecraft folders I can find on my entire computer.
I have a mac not Pc. As I stated in my first post I was running Minecraft 1.5.2. And I have gone to options in the log in. The issue is that those folders are no where to be seen. I does say that I need to go to user/myuser/library/application support/minecraft.
But as the pictures displayed. I do not have those folders.
I still can't locate the files but I downloaded Magic Launcher the prior day before installing that texturepack that crashed my minecraft.
And when I open it and go to options I can see the texturepack folder and the texturepacks I installed within it.. :/ but I have no way of accessing them.. Ugh! ): I'm so frustrated </3
Thanks Gerbil, I was finally able to locate it using that link. You have no idea how frustrated I was because no matter what I did I could never find them!!
