Hello!

I am running a whitelisted server using snapshot 13W24A.

We had set up a spawn "room" as it were. Inside the room is a button that gives the player a bed, a pick and some food to get them started, then teleports them to a central location, or HQ as it were.

This button has worked quite fine in the past, but a player of mine accidentally forgot to reset their bed after breaking it in a "home renovation" and, well, died.

They popped up in the spawn location but could not use the button.

Now myself, being an operator could use the button, and the command blocks did exactly what they were supposed to do, but no non-opped player can use the button.

Is this a bug? or is this a new "feature"?

If it's inside spawn protection, it can't be used. Buttons, doors, levers, chests, etc. cannot be used inside spawn protection.

The thing is though, it was usable before. It's how everyone got started on my server. Only recently had it changed, was this intended?

I'm not sure if it's intended or not as there is no log that it was added on Mojang.com, but I would probably assume so. I too stumbled across this when switching from 1.5.2 to the snapshot and finding that people could no longer use things in spawn.

I am not sure, but if that's the fix, wouldn't it be counter productive? You would want the spawn area to not be destroyable right?

My users can use buttons everywhere else but at spawn
