whenever im in pvp i lag. but when im not pvping i have perfect connection? is it just me? or did this happen to anyone else who plays minecraft. I keep freezing all the time in pvp then i end up dying once i unfreeze but the ironic thing is that once im in my vault or walkin around or building i never lag. i dont get it. does pvp take up more internet connection or is it a coinsidence that every time i pvp i lag. I need help. thanks.
Freezing is not a connection issue, it's a computer issue. You must be having frame issues when you're engaging in combat because of various particles being generated. Try turning particles down to Minimal and see if that helps.

It might also be because if the computer does not have at least about 500 GB of space on the computer, that computer can get pretty messed up if you have much else on it. MineCraft will lag because of limited space on a computers hard drive.

No...no it doesn't. Out of my 750 GB hard drive, 725GB of it is full...it's just a matter of defraging to keep it all sorted.
Try using a reduced flame texture pack, flame effects are also a huge degrade on video cards. Not to mention getting them out of your vision helps PVP.

Lag on the other hand is the time it takes between doing something, and having a response. For example, mobs freezing while you can still move, and then suddenly they all move to different spots is lag. Mining a block, and not having it drop anything until 10 seconds later is lag. You can still have high FPS and lag at the same time. Likewise, you can also have poor FPS, but good response time. Here is my explanation of why being in a large PVP battle can cause lag:

If all those people lived in the same house, I expect you would always have lag. When players are far away from each other, the client usually doesn't even need to know all of their locations, as they are too far to cause any difference. It's just when you get close that your computer will start paying attention to them.
