I've built a gaming PC and I can run every game at high settings. (I.e. Skyrim, GTA, SAints Row etc) But when I play Minecraft, I will get very bad lag spikes. I think it may be a problem with windows 8 , as a lot of people have complained of similar things. I've tried running it in compatibility mode for windows 7 and I've turned settings all the the way down. Nothing works? Anyone got advice or a fix? Thanks! -Shy
Also, a note, just because Minecraft's graphics have a retro styling does not mean that you can run the game on a Commodore 64. Minecraft will make a computer work just as hard, and in some cases harder than, many other contemporary games. You may just not have the correct settings.

It is probably worth grabbing the May update for your drivers,

Please also do not run the game in compatibility mode, it will present unexpected issues. Let me know if the problem persists.
