I downloaded Minecraft on a Mac and copied it from Finder into the /Applications folder. When I tried to open it, it gave me a message saying that it couldn't open Minecraft with Finder. I checked the file type, and it was like everything else, an Application? What's going on?
EDIT: I'm not very familiar with a Mac.
Do as you did before, unpack it into the Applications folder.
