Check your firewall to see if there is anything from the server being dropped, research it, and find out what you should do with it.
I've looked at many other peoples' posts and they've been getting the same problem as me. I've tried all the advice people gave but none of them worked. I allowed java on my firewall and I made inbound and outbound rules.
(Sorry I'm not really good at firewalls and stuff)
-my laptop is 64 bit windows 8
-There are 4 other computers in my home and they don't have this problem when I play on servers (but they're really laggy so I got my new laptop)
-I only have k9 web protection and McAfee
Try to use the fix on this page - even if it doesn't have the same symptoms.
I tried the fix but it didn't work. OMG this is so frustrating.I've done some research and I think the culprit might either be K9 web protection or McAfee. None of the other computers I own have K9 and work fine. But they all have McAfee so I'm not really sure. Any ideas?
I disabled it but it didn't work
So is the problem McAfee? Maybe my firewall is blocking connection. I think this problem started occurring right after the day I installed McAfee. Also, I did some testing. I locally hosted a server from one of my old computers and connected to it with my new laptop with the problem. I connected with no problem and I didn't get any errors. So then I tried hosting a server from my new laptop. I could get on but my other computers could not connect. Is the problem that I can only connect to locally hosted servers? Every 24/7 server I've joined has this problem. hmm...
Make sure that everything allows Java connections through to the internet.
I am pretty sure everything allows java but the problem still persists. I've tried temporarily turning off my firewall but the problem is still there!!! Then what IS the problem? I remember the day AFTER I installed McAfee the problem started. But before I had a 30 day free trial and there was no problem. OMG WHY
Hey guys CaptainBaitzy here! I've had the same problem you've had! It took almost forever to fix this problem!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So I've had SafeEyes, K9 Webprotection, etc. And they all cause this problem! Uninstall any Webprotection you have immediately! If you have any hope of playing Minecraft again!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And if your Parents have a problem with this then I suggest you build there trust!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you found this helpful pass it on to other people that might have the same problem!
And making a Youtube video would be helpful for people who don't get on fourms!

Your welcome,
Problem solved. So the problem is actually just K9 Web Protection. You have to completely uninstall it for the problem to go away. Disabling it will not work. You MUST UNINSTALL IT. If your parents don't want to uninstall K9 then I recommend McAfee Family Protection or something like that. Thanks to everyone who tried helping on this problem!
