Hello, yesterday i purchased minecraft through minecraft.net and after downloading the launcher i have been unable to login to minecraft on my computer. I have been able to use my new info to login on my friends computer at his house but not on mine. I have gone through the support site and done every fix for the problem they have in that section. I attempted to run it through my browser and when i did that i was able to download the basic files needed for minecraft and i tried to do play offline in both the launcher and browser when it continued to not connect, but then it just froze at the done screen in browser and froze with a black screen via launcher.
I would like to play this game so any help would be appreciated.
Okay, so i went to the IRC and found my solution, i have a - and a ! in my windows username... and that was the cause. So made a new user account without them and now it is working just fine.
So if this happens to someone else, check if the bottom section of the launcher (around the login boxes) is black and not brown, try to make a new user and log in.
