I was playing around with potion effects on a map I am making and I put in effect 21 and it crashed the world and I cannot get back in, and I have no backups. Can someone please help me!!
You can try to fix the corruption, which I assume what is happening to your world, with MCEdit.
Open the offending world in MCEdit, press 'ctrl-i' and select 'Repair regions' in the dialogue which pops up. Once this has completed, save your world and exit MCEdit.
To download MCEdit, go to http://www.mcedit.net/ and choose the version appropriate for your OS.
