Is ever going to be able to work windows 8? Is it just a bug,and there is a way to play but is it the same?

Are you sure you are on da official site? I use Windows 8 as well, and I never gotten that error before.. I use the In-Browser version, so if it's the downloadable kind, then I'm not sure..

I can PROMISE you that Minecraft works on Windows 8. As we speak I am playing Minecraft on Windows 8. I can take a screenshot to prove it to you if you need it. Windows 8 is nothing more than Windows 7 with a bunch of new features. I personally have no idea why it is not working for you, but I had no problem what-so-ever playing on Windows 8. PM me if you need any help.

I haven't tried but I just but an i7 laptop with 8gb of ram it wasn't cheap and it runs windows 8 I heard a lot of people say it doesn't work
So I wanted to know before I opened it how many fps should I get its a toshiba i7 8gb of ram with 759gb of harddrive intel hd 4000 graphics

Go into the browser version of windows 8, which looks like windows 7, and you can download MC.

Depends on graphics settings.

Just go into desktop mode and download it.

I am 100% sure you can. I am playing mc on it right now. If you are trying to play the browser version, only use the desktop version. Metro browsers don't support java.

I've been experiencing the smame problem too, it says ''the video card drivers are bad'' or something like that. It just won't work, in both desktop and browser.

Windows 8 does not have any built in support for OpenGL, it only has support for Microsoft's proprietary WDDM graphics driver. (kiss "open platform" support from Microsoft goodbye, they are turning into Apple now )

Minecraft needs OpenGL to run and since Windows 8 has no OpenGL drivers included you are going to have to go download some from either your computer manufacturer or the maker of your graphics card/chip. If neither of them has an driver update that has OpenGL support then you are out of luck, unless you can add or change out a graphics card and in some laptops that isn't possible.

I think what you're trying to say is "Windows 8 is not compatible with Minecraft".

I've been having this problem myself. I've been told to update my video card drivers, and that seemed to do the trick.

On some computers, mostly laptops, this can be true unfortunately. But in probably 95% or better of these cases it can be fixed simply by adding the proper drivers to Windows 8.
